2nd quarter interims were sent home with students this past Friday. Please be sure your review their academic progress together. A great way to start a conversation regarding grades is asking students to show their agenda. Are they writing down homework assignments? Which SMART Block sessions are they attending each week (locations are stamped on each day in their agenda)? Are they putting forth their full efforts on each assignment? Please encourage your children to take the initiative and speak with teachers if they have questions.
We are in the early stages of planning this event for students in March 2018 and are first reaching out to our school community to gauge interest in participating in this incredible educational opportunity for our students.
At the Career Fair, students will learn about jobs and careers in various fields; have opportunities to meet professionals and ask questions about their educational background, their work, their companies, and their industries; and will gain a better understanding of the skills and education required for jobs in various industries and fields.
Participating in our career fair would allow you to get in front of students and share good information about your company, jobs in your industry, and the education and skills students need to succeed.
Please sign up if you are interested in presenting to a group of students about your career:

NEW DDMS PTA Website
The NCPTA has created a partnership with MemberHub to simplify and standardize PTA communications for schools. We are going to be opening MemberHub as a replacement for Membership Toolkit for efficiency and reduced costs for us.
The PTA has moved most family information from Membership Toolkit to MemberHub in preparation for the transition. You should have received an email and/or text inviting you to look at your member information and preferences.
Please look at your information and preferences to ensure they are correct. There is also a texting feature. Right now the primary member will receive texts. Please change this setting if you do not wish to receive texts going forward.
Students may earn high school credit for specified courses without spending a set number of hours taking the course in a classroom. Under the state’s Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) option, uniquely qualified students may “test out” or bypass a course if they have already mastered the content. The application window for Credit by Demonstrated Mastery will be open November 13, 2017 through December 15, 2017. Please click here to see more information.
